Dear Good Shepherd and ISOM Friend,
I am writing this Newsletter on the way back to California from
Trinidad. It was my first time there. We graduated 60 ISOM
students under the Regional Center leadership of Adesh and
Deirdre Nanan. I spoke to a significant group of pastors there in
the central part of the island. We expect at least a dozen new
ISOM schools to start in Trinidad over the next few months
through the seed that now has been sown.
The previous two weeks, Lisa and I led a group of 35 people on a
missions trip to Africa. We ministered in the city of Boksburg
outside Johannesburg, visited close to 400 AIDS orphans in
Bulembu, Swaziland, and spent a week at a lion ranch in South
Africa learning about faith and ministry. During the trip over 150
kids gave their hearts to Christ, and close to that number received
the gift of the Holy Spirit. We also had a number of European
volunteers at the lion ranch who found Christ as Savior in remarkable
ways through the ministry of the team. It was one of the best
missions trips Lisa and I have ever led.
This has been a season of a lot of graduations. Thousands of ISOM
students have been graduating all over the world, and nearly
every week Lisa has been posting graduating photos on our
Facebook.com/internationalschoolofministry website. I have had
the privilege of being a part of graduations this year, not only in
Trinidad, but also in Canada, Kuwait, South Africa and in a number
of USA schools.
For Lisa and I, the graduation season personally has impacted us.
We want to congratulate our daughter Christina (26) for graduating
from Temple Law School in Philadelphia. My Gilfillan family
now has had someone enter the legal profession for seven
consecutive generations. Christina recently took the California Bar
exam to practice law in California, and has been accepted into
Georgetown Law School this fall to do a specialty LL.M. program
in International Business Law. Georgetown Law is one of the top
14 law schools in the USA and is located close to Capitol Hill in
Washington D.C.. Please pray God uses Christina in this very critical
arena. We urgently need godly people to help bring reform and
restoration to our nation’s capital and beyond.

Lisa and I are extremely excited about the upcoming RC and
Missions Conference (Oct. 1-4). This event is proving to be unlike
any previous ISOM gathering, and we sense such divine destiny
upon it. Lisa and I believe God is bringing an incredibly strategic
group of people together to speak to all of us about His purposes
for this hour and for this generation. We expect the
evening meetings to pack out The Rock Church and World
Outreach Center’s 2,700-seat auditorium.
Having Reinhard Bonnke do two legacy meetings with us is
incredibly special. Through him, we are trusting God to release a
new passion, anointing and strategy upon all of us for the harvest
task that lies ahead. Lisa and I worked for more than four years
with Reinhard out of Germany. We truly can say we do not know
anyone with a greater passion for souls than him. He has been a
true spiritual father to us. Barely a day goes by where Lisa or I don’t
quote something we heard or learned from him. We hope you
enjoy the photo on this page from that era.
We also are looking forward to hearing Danny Carroll, missionary
and pastor of Water of Life Community Church in Fontana, CA. His
huge local church not only uses ISOM, but they sent 26 teams to
the mission field this summer. Also, we will have Brother Yun, “The
Heavenly Man,” give all of us an understanding of what it means to
face persecution for Christ in China. His 74-day fast and
subsequent supernatural escape from a maximum security prison
has touched and inspired millions in the Global Church. To read
more about Brother Yun, visit this cover story by Charisma
These speakers are just the tip of the iceberg, as we will hear from
other ISOM teachers like Papa Gill, Buddy Bell, and Pastors Jim and
Deborah Cobrae. We also will see ISOM video reports from around
the world and live testimonies from key international delegates.
On a very practical side, we will be learning about:
• Branding, marketing and fulfilling purpose from Erik and
Sandy Van Alstine.
• Setting leaders in place using ISOM by Pastor Frank Lopez
from Miami, Florida.
• Using “The Cloud” to reach the unreached by Rob
Birkbeck from John Bevere’s Messenger International.
If you have not yet registered, please consider joining us for this
ISOM Missions & Regional Center Conference October 1-4, 2014.
We believe it will be life-changing. It is open to pastors, leaders,
intercessors, ISOM delegates, missionaries, and those with a heart
for the harvest. Please go to rcc.isom.org for the conference
details. We also ask that you remember us in your prayers and in
your giving. This summer tested all of us financially, and many
of our staff were forced to cut back in their hours and in their
schedules. We are believing God for an amazing fall and for great
provision to be released for the future to accomplish the purposes
