Do students need to pay the $240 now?
|
No, Students are not required to pay $240 until they have completed all requirements for the VIEN Diploma of Christian Ministry, and are applying for this transfer degree. This enrollment form is just to ensure future eligibility under the program, not actually apply for it. For more information about the actual transfer of credit from ISOM to VIEN, or any other participating institution, please go to www.isom.org/transfer. |
Does this change mean that ISOM is ceasing operations?
| No! ISOM will continue to function in all ways as we previously have. This change only affects a single way that ISOM graduates can transfer to other institutions. This VIEN option happened to be the only government accredited pathway for ISOM students, which is the reason for the News Flash. |
Does government accreditation guarantee transferability to other accredited institutions?
|
No! Even among schools that are regionally accredited in the USA, by a US Department of Education approved accrediting agency, there is not a guarantee that all classes and units will be transferred and applied towards the degree program that one wishes to fufill. For "foreign" accreditation, such as VETAB from Australia for those in the USA, each institution will evaluate the Diploma of Christian Ministry differently. Some may evaluate the VETAB accreditation itself, while others may look just at the courses taken in ISOM, and completely ignore the accreditation, since it is not US Dept. of Education recognized. For those students who wish to transfer to a government accredited school (College or University), or would like to see if the ISOM is applicable for Continuing Education requirements for particular jobs or professions, it is strongly recommended that the student contact the desired school, university, or workplace PRIOR to ENROLLING in ISOM, so that a full evaluation of the material can be made, and that no misunderstandings are present. |
If I received a degree through VIU previous to the VIEN Accreditation, can I "upgrade" my Associate to an accredited Diploma?
|
Yes! Because of VIU's relationship with VIEN, any student who received the religious exempt (non-accredited) degree prior to the VIEN VETAB accreditation is able to upgrade the degree for $90 US Dollars. |
What do I do now if I already received the Diploma of Christian Ministry from VIEN?
|
If you already received the Diploma, there is nothing else that you need to do! You already have the VETAB accredited Diploma of Christian Ministry. If you are wanting to continue your Vision International University education, please see www.vision.edu. |
Can a student get both the CLU and the Vision award (accredited and non-accredited)?
|
Yes! A student is welcome to apply for, and receive, any and all of the degrees/awards listed on isom.org/transfer. |
