Professor Bios

Joshua Lingel (i2 Ministries, Inc.)

Joshua is the Executive Director of i2 Ministries. He trains students and missionaries globally in Christian Apologetics to Islam and currently teaches the only undergraduate course offered on Christian apologetics to Islam at Biola Univesity in Southern California.

Jay Smith (Brethren in Christ World Mission)

Jay has been a missionary with the Brethren in Christ World Mission since 1983 working in evangelism with Muslims in England, France, and Senegal. Jay is considered to be one of the top Christian apologists to Muslims in the world, and has been involved in over 60 formal debates with Muslim scholars globally.

Dr. Sasan Tavassoli (Pastor/Teacher to Iranian Church)

Born and raised in a Shi’ite Muslim home in Iran, Sasan came to faith in Christ over 20 years ago. He has been involved in ministering to Iranians for the past 18 years and is currently active in producing theological resources and promoting leadership development for the growing Iranian Church worldwide.

Dr. Jeff Morton (Biola University, SIM, i2 Trainer)

Jeff Morton served as a missionary with SIM in Liberia and Guinea. He is a part-time professor of Intercultural Studies at Biola University, and teaches missionaries internationally as an i2 Ministries trainer.

Rolan Muller (WEC International)

Roland is a cross-cultural church-planter with WEC International. Over the last 30 years he has ministered to a wide variety of people in the Middle East; from the palaces of wealthy oil sheiks to humble Bedouin tents, from bustling cities to rural villages. He is the author of a dozen books, and currently teaches cross-cultural ministry skills in Canada and has a worldwide speaking and mentoring ministry.

Dr. Elsie Maxwell (Arab World Ministries)

Dr. Maxwell has extensive experience in the world of Islam. She has been with Arab World Ministries since 1963 and has worked for 27 years in Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco. Since 1984 she has been working amongst Arabs in London while teaching Islamic courses at the London Bible College.

Rev. Sudhakar Mondithoka (HIThA/i2 Ministries India)

Sudhakar is the Pastor of the English Congregation of Centenary Baptist Church, Secunderabad, India, and is a free-lance writer, speaker, and apologist-evangelist. He has spoken in over 10 countries and many Universities and Institutes of Higher Education in India. He is the director of the Hyderabad Institute of Theology and Apologetics and the i2 National Coordinator of i2 Ministries in India.

John Gilchrist (Life Challenge Africa)

John speaks from over 30 years of personal outreach to Muslims in South Africa and is a well-known international writer, teacher, and debater. He has always believed that the most effective way of reaching Muslims with the Gospel is to base our witness on the Word of God.

David Wood (Acts 17 Apologetics)

A Former Atheist, David now is a scholar of Christian Apologetics and a public debater of Muslims. He is the co-founder of the apologetics ministry Acts 17. He is also the administrator of the website answeringInfidels.com

Dr. William Wagner (Olivet University International)

Dr. Wagner has pastored nine Baptists churches located in four different countries. He was a missionary for the IMB for 32 years, worked as Professor of Evangelism at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, served as second vice president of the SBC, and currently is the President of the Olivet University International in San Francisco.
